Empty by Suzanne Weyn

Empty takes place 10 years from now. It's about how the world is running out of oil completely, when the United States is on the brink of war with Venezuela for oil. The U.S. was attacking because Venezuela says they're going to raise the prices on oil barrels from $500 a barrel to $800. But because of the gas shortage the U.S. soldiers were forced to keep fighting, but at a place called Sage Valley 4 teenagers, named Tom, Niki, Gwen, and Hector are having a struggle for food, water and gas. Then two hurricanes, Oscar and Pearl, came together and formed a superhurricane called Oscpearl. Trying to find shelter from the superhurricane, Gwen finds an abandoned cave she remembers from when she was young. [SPOILER ALERT!!!!] So then she searches the cave and comes to an iron door that seems to be clean she walks in the door and finds that there is a house in the side of a hill it is invisible from the outside. So it is the end of one world and a new beginning for another.
