Peak by Roland Smith

It's freezing and Peak Marcello, a 14-year-old New Yorker, hangs by a rope on the side of a skyscraper as he tries to tag his signature. When he finally makes it to the top, police officers are there to arrest him.  At his trial, the judge places him on probation with the condition that Peak will go to Thailand to live with his famous mountaineer father for a year. Soon after Peak arrives in Thailand, he learns that his father has plans for him. Peak will be climbing Mount Everest.  Will Peak survive the brutal and deadly weather?
