Tally Youngblood was just weeks away until she got her surgery to turn pretty. Some of her friends already turned pretty, and soon it would be her turn too. But just two weeks before the surgery, she met a girl named Shay. It turned out that they had the same birthday. So that meant they would get pretty on the same day. But the day before the surgery, Shay told Tally that she's not so sure she wanted to turn pretty. Instead, she wanted to run away into the smoke, which is where people that didn't want to become pretty went. But now Tally has the biggest decision of her life. Turn her friend into Special Circumstances and turn pretty, or run away into the smoke and never turn pretty. You are not going to believe her decision! I highly recommend to read it and find out what happens!
