Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

Melinda had friends, had a life, good grades, and was actually seen. But after going to a party, just one phone call changed her life. After that everyone hated her. Her last year friends didn't even talk to her, she went from straight B's to C's and D's, she skipped school, most of her teachers didn't like her either. Her parents often got mad at each other and were sometimes on the edge of getting a divorce. Will her life ever change? Or will this always be her life.

A good read. Great story line. Enjoyed very much. Melinda Solino, a new high school sophomore dealing with the troubles of kids at school because of calling the cops on a senior summer party at the end the that past summer. But no one knows the TRUE reason why she called the cops. It wasn't about the party. Told from Melinda's point of view, this story takes you through Melinda's high school life, the twists and turns of a girl going from straight A student, to a rebel avoiding school at all costs. The consequences fierce. Surprise ending, and an overall great read.
