The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

Have you ever had that feeling that you were being followed your whole life? Well imagine that feeling, When you were sort-of being attacked by your evil monster-teacher. Imagine when you went to that camp that your mom just told you about on the way there except this time, there are half man and half horse things and for fun you play capture the flag with real weapons. The lightning thief was one of the books iv'e ever read by far (other than the hunger games). If you like greek mythology or your like me and you like it but you don't know much about it then just jump into this series because it was one of the best experiences iv'e had in a while.

If you ever have read a good book. You should believe me when i say i really did stay up until 1:00-2:00 in the morning. That is just about how great it is going to be for you.

Very highly recommended. Remember this is a series so read the next book "The Sea Of Monsters" witch is also a great book but thats a different review.

The Sneetches and Other Stories by Dr. Seuss

I really liked your book, The Sneetches. This is one of the bestest books I have ever read.

My fifth grade teacher read this book to me. When I got to sixth grade my language arts teacher told us that we had to look through our literature book and read a story and write a letter to the author of the story, that is when I saw the Sneetches.

In the beginning, the star belly sneetches treated the plain belly sneetches some what differently than they treat them selves. I think that the star belly sneetches is mean and need to be taught a lesson from the plain belly sneetches for being so judgmental.

In the middle of the story, Sylvester McMonkey McBean comes with a machine that can make the plain belly sneetches have stars. So when the plain belly sneetches went in and came out they had stars. The star belly sneetches didn't like the plain belly sneetches having stars like them so they said ''Stars are no longer in style.'' So sylvester said that they can go through his star off machine. So they went through and when they came out they didn't have stars. So the plain belly sneetches did the same.

So since they couldn't tell which sneetch was which they decided that a sneetch is a sneetch!

Ted & Me by Dan Gutman

Ted & Me is about a boy named Joe that can travel through time by holding a baseball card. Joe's talent has been a secret from everybody except his family and his coach. But one day a FBI agent shows up at Joe's front door. The agent knows about his talent and wants him to go back in time to stop the attacks of Pearl Harbor. The FBI agent gives him a Ted Williams card to go back in time, plus he says that Ted will help him out. Joe's first try was not great the card sent him back to the wrong time, date and place. Next on his second try Joe finds Ted and tells him what is going to happen. Next Joe hits the road to Washington to tell the president what is going to happen. So will Joe and Ted make it to the White House.

The book was fantastic and very exciting. It kept my interest by ending each chapter with suspense. I just could not stop reading this book. I would recommend this book to baseball fans and 5th to 8th graders. Also there are different books from Dan Gutman just like this one but with a different player.

The Genius Files: Mission Unstoppable by Dan Gutman

Two twins- Coke and Pepsi were two regular kids until one day they had to make an option to either die or jump off a cliff. This was because maniacs were trying to kill them. Thankfully a lady that day saved their lives. Coke and Pepsi went home confused and still recovering. Soon after their family went on a road trip because their aunt is getting married. Coke and Pepsi thought the ride was over and forgot about the whole thing until they were attacked again. But their parents don't know because it's safer that way. He slowly takes his eyes off of her. He welcomes Agnes. Then he goes into a room where there is a mummy. Showalter tells Agnes that she can start unwrapping the mummy. Agnes is hesitating to unwrap the mummy. The people get bored so some start unwrapping even though she hasn't. Soon she finds the courage to unwrap the mummy. People find things. Showalter is looking at what they found. Agnes sees something and unwraps faster. She finds a little metal dog head. She sees Showalter isn't watching so she hides the dog's head in her bodice. Bad things start to happen like a person from the party is killed. They think there is a curse. Do you know who did the damage to the people?

I really thought the book was really interesting. It included many facts that we learned in social studies. I think this is a good book for 6-8 graders because they learned about social studies in 6th grade. It gives them a chance to remember and love the things they learned in the past or now.
