The Cay by Theodore Taylor

The book The Cay is a captivating book about a situation that just seems crazy in it’s own time. The Cay is about a boy who is lost at sea with a black man who has to teach him how to survive, because soon enough the old man dies. There are many things to be learned from this book. Such as not to judge a person by their appearance, or maybe what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Anyway throughout the book there has been many quotes. Many of the quotes were deemed rude or just unfit for people to read back in the 70’s. But about 10 years later the standards changed for that book and it was put back on the shelves.
