Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix

I honestly love this series. The series is well written and a good way to get involved with a book series that will keep you busy reading for a while. This story is about life in what seems like a future reference but could take place in the present day. Families are only allowed two children, a third child would be considered part of the shadow children. A third child that needs to be hidden from the Population Police. As the name suggests they make sure that the population in each house is under control. A child named Luke is part of the shadow children. He's never been able to go outside since they cut down the forest in his backyard.
[Spoiler ALERT
One day he sees a girls face in the window of the Talbot's house, a face he's never seen before, a face he's certain needs to be hidden. He risks a lot going over to the house and meets her. Face with a name now. Her name is Jen. Jen Talbot is a shadow child along with Luke. Jen is a free spirit willing to risk it all and free shadow children. But is she willing to pay the price for freedom?  Read the Shadow Children series to get to go on a suspenseful adventure series written by Margaret Peterson Haddix.
