The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie

This book is about an Indian boy named Arnold Spirit Jr. He was born with too much cerebral spinal fluid inside his skull. This caused him to have a big head. He also lost his vision and needed several surgeries. And he was poor.  He had to go to a different school so he wouldn't get beaten to death!
